Crazy About Gardening: Humorous Reflections on the Sweet Seductions of a Garden
Published in Hardcover by Alaska Northwest Books (February, 1994)
Author: Des Kennedy
Average review score:

Tears of laughter from a wonderful writer and his garden.
I read this book some time ago, the text was so well written, so informative and joyful. It is a garden story, so hard to come by these days, full of laughter... "plants in bondage" we've all been there with delphiniums. A treasure of a story and a window into a Canadian West Coast Garden. Thanks Des.

Creative Island: Inspired Design from Great Britain
Published in Paperback by Laurence King Pub (September, 2002)
Author: John Sorrell
Average review score:

The best book of contemporary design in Britain
This is an inspiring collection of great images with engaging tales taken from interviews with some of the world's leading designers, talking about their work.
The interviews get inside the design process and act as an inspirational guide on how leading creative minds answer their briefs and produce great work. The interviews also contain a variety of views of the state of British creativity.
Not all the designers are British. A fair number are from a variety of countries (The USA, China, Poland, for example) but have come to Britain (and London especially) because at the moment it's THE place to be for design creativity.
Products examined vary from the wobbly millennium bridge to cutlery design, from the high engineering of the Rolls Royce trent engine to the more instinctive of glasses, clothes and even pepper pots.
The writing is seductive and the photography wonderful.
A great book for any library, and a fascinating coffee table book. If you have an interest in design and how it works, and how it can be applied to your own life, home, or profession, I couldn't recommend this book more highly.

Cruising Guide to the Leeward Islands: 2000-2001 Edition
Published in Paperback by Cruising Guide Pubns (February, 1900)
Authors: Chris Doyle and Nancy Scott
Average review score:

An absolute must-have book for cruisers
Having just spent 4 months cruising the Leeward and the Windward islands, I must say that I can't imagine doing so without Chris Doyle's cruising guides. They provide an amazing amount of detail on virtually every aspect of the islands; from anchorages to repairs to provisioning to customs. His maps and navigation sections prove invaluable.

The information in these guides are incredibly up to date considering the amount of change which is occurring in the islands. While Chris may be overly kind with his pen at times, you can always tell when he really likes or dislikes something. He is also very receptive to receiving corrections via e-mail.

All in all this is a must-have book for anyone thinking of cruising the Leewards.

Guides the sailor through the Northwest Carribean
Used this book extensively when we cruised the Caribbean and never had a reason to criticize any information. Entry and exit instructions were explict and correct. We did exactly as he recommended and had no problems. Direction for sailding from Cuba to Mexico were right on and tips about sailing down the Mexican coast were helpful. Belize info was great as was the info about Guatemala!

A great help for one of the best games ever created. Though, it does not help if you decide to play the "Mega Monkey" version of the game.

Cutthroat Island
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Forge (December, 1995)
Authors: John Gregory Betancourt, Michael Frost Becker, James Gorman, Bruce A. Evans, and Raynold Gideon
Average review score:

Excellent detailing
This book is yet one of my most favorites. The detailing of this fine writen book makes you actually not want to put it down once you start to read it. The movie is wonderful, but the book takes you to the next level that the movie leaves out.

So if you are a person who craves more detailing in an action and adventure, this is the book for you. No lie, you will not be disapointed. Take my word for it.
